Hi again! Putting together a photo album of the NT trip. Would it be ok if I use two of your food pics? A canape and a champagne one from the Auralen dinner. Have only done a little bit of research into Swedish places to eat in Brisbane. It looks like IKEA Logan is our only choice - hahahhah! Or me cooking... You have to come to the Summer Solstice Dinner next year though. Lots of weird herring and schnaps of course! Let's do dinner soon anyhow, I'm sure you have plenty of recommendations. Take Care. Kram.

don't laugh - i love ikea! and we always eat there when we go. sometimes twice. once in the cafe and then again at the end.

where and when is this summer solstice dinner?

have you convinced peter to do a food blog yet?

Thanks!

Well I have to admit that there have been both before and after shopping snacking (hotdogs, cinnamon buns, lingonberry juice, crisps, sweets - you name it) from the shop when visiting out there...

As for the Summer Solstice or Midsommar as we call it. In short we celebrate the longest day (or at least the first Friday around that time) of our Summer. We have traditional food, do traditional folk dancing around a flower decorated pole and to fuel it all you have quite a few schnaps. It's an old pagan ritual with an abundance of folklore stories, food & drink that all make up one of the biggest celebrations in the year in Sweden.

We are though planning to do a smallish-international-pre-Christmas-dinner before our German housemate is going back home. In mid december and you would be very welcome to join us!

No food blog for Peter, he's just getting used to Facebook and is alrady conecerned about the time consuming effects it has...

Perhaps exchanging emails would make this communication easier?

Mine is: lonasasa@hotmail.com

Off to Melbourne for my first time tomorrow!

Hope you'll have a wonderful weekend too.

Kram.
